So I grew up coming here occasionally and while back for a quick visit popped in with a friend, despite some of the negative reviews. I ordered my standby burger, fried and chocolate shake. It was all perfect....right sized burger, perfect crisp fries and that thin chocolate shake I remember. The Chickenburger has been doing smash- burgers for decades ....and they remain GREAT. Friendly attentive service, decent prices, can't go wrong.
Service was fantastic. Food but pricey but understandable with everything is pricey. The place was exceptionally clean. I was impressed when we sat by a window ledge & I wiped my hand on the ledge, no dust, no dirt! Well taken care of. I would return again as a nice treat!

My grandparents, my parents, and my family still continue to eat at the Chickenburger!! It's a very clean environment and pictures of the old days of the Chickenburger always do my heart well, which reminds me of my childhood days with friends & family
I'm sad that the people working here now since knowing this place since my youth have changed. They were not very kind and spoke Punjabi or whatever language to each other while I was trying to talk to them with my order. I also didn't like my chicken burger. It was very dry. Ho-hum. Another beautiful business I'm disappointed with!!!!!! Lack of service and lack of the English language is so discouraging
We make sure to visit the Chickenburger every time we visit Halifax. They've been around for 85 years! Wow! Now that's a successful restaurant! Great chicken burgers, hamburgers, fries, onion rings, and ice cream!
Food was delicious! Had a chicken burger, onion rings, piece of fish and a chocolate milkshake. All good but would definitely recommend the milkshake...lol We sat outside at the picnic tables but if you want to, you can dine inside in a 50/60's themed dining area, complete with a jukebox(due to covid, you can't choose the songs like before, but it is still playing music for the ambience).
